A new date for your diary – our first ever geo:influence event

Published: 12 Mar 2025

With the theme of ‘influencing the present, creating a future’, we are very excited to be holding the Survey Liaison Group’s first ever geo:influence event this spring.

The Survey Liaison Group (SLG), set up many years ago with the aim of becoming THE voice for the UK survey profession, is made up of TSA, Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) and RICS. Our combined ambition is to work together to bring about tangible change in the geospatial profession. Geo:influence is a new SLG initiative which will cover a range of topics.

Geo:influence – first a focus on education and skills

One of the biggest challenges continuing to face us as a profession is to recruit, train and provide a qualification pathway to a career in land survey for young people. This inaugural geo:influence event will cover the topics of education and skills, with the emphasis on discussion and the focus on identifying solutions and finding practical ways to implement them.

Taking place on Wednesday 14th May 2025 from 10:00 to 15:00 at Dudley College, this will be another major step on our journey to let every young person in the UK know about land surveying as a career.

SLG wants to bring together everyone who really wants to work on this challenge for the benefit of the whole profession. We would like geo:influence to be a catalyst for real progress. If you are interested in taking part, please let us know by emailing office@tsa-uk.org.uk.
