We’re excited to announce that our annual TSA Conference is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 9 November 2022. The venue is the British Motor Museum in Warwick and we invite all our members to register to attend. It’s shaping up to be a great day and one which we hope our members will appreciate and enjoy.
Stronger together
This is the first TSA Conference to be held since 2018 – for some reason there have been some interruptions. This conference is fittingly titled ‘Stronger Together’ and reiterates the importance of being part of an association like TSA and the benefits to its members. Our special guest speaker is sporting legend Sir Clive Woodward. As one of our three Vision statements is ‘TSA will help you build a better business’, Sir Clive will be speaking on the subject of ‘The DNA of a Champion’.
Based on the principal “Great Teams Are Made of Great Individuals”, Sir Clive has identified three criteria, which he believes characterise a champion, an individual or team in both business and sport. ‘The DNA of a Champion’ will reveal these criteria, but also how they can be coached to create high-performing teams and individuals. A former England International and British and Irish Lion himself, Sir Clive Woodward was England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup Winning Head Coach, and has held a variety of prestigious sporting positions, such as Director of Sport Team GB at London 2012, Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2008. He’s also a founding partner and chairman of Hive Learning (an app which has digitised Sir Clive’s coaching methods) and Director of Sport at Apex2100 International Ski Academy.
A packed day in prospect
As part of the day’s schedule, Chris Stewart, President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), will be speaking, as will Terry Mundy of Lloyds Register on the detail behind the TSA PAS128 Accreditation Scheme, which is gearing up for launch. Following on from the huge engagement and lively debates at the AGM in March, our Council will be updating members on the issues discussed and three areas to focus on – how TSA will help you build a better business, encouraging companies with a survey requirement to only use a TSA member, and making every young person aware of surveying as a career option.
During the break for lunch, you will have free time to enjoy the breath-taking venue, along with some valuable networking with fellow TSA members. The British Motor Museum is the world’s largest collection of historic British cars. It’s a treat for petrol heads and celebrates British motoring’s past, present and future. There are over 400 British classic cars for visitors to explore, drawn from the collections of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
Ahead of the conference, we are delighted that The Survey School will hold its Graduation Day this week (Friday 14 October). At this event we’ll be pleased to welcome the next generation of surveyors coming through with the completion of Courses 54 and 55 of the TSA Surveying Course.
We hope to see as many members as possible at the conference and look forward to welcoming faces old and new. If you would like to attend, please get in touch by 31 October 2022 with your details. We’ll see you soon!
