Final Countdown to Conference

Published: 01 Nov 2023

With just one week remaining until our annual Conference on Wednesday 8 November, it’s all systems go at TSA for what promises to be an other-worldly experience!

Watch this space

We are very excited that our Conference keynote speaker this year is internationally renowned astronaut, Tim Peake.

Tim was the first British ESA astronaut to visit the International Space Station, and spent 186 days in space. During this time, he conducted a spacewalk to repair the Station’s power supply. He also drove a rover across a simulated Mars terrain from space, took part in over 250 scientific experiments for ESA and international partners, and helped to dock two spacecraft to the Station. Over thirty education outreach projects were also conducted during Tim’s mission, which have reached more than two million students.

Now a keen educator and ambassador for space and Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), we look forward to sharing this exciting and informative session.

A driving force

With our annual Conference once again being held this year at the British Motor Museum in Warwick, petrolheads and car enthusiasts alike will be amazed by the spectacular array of motors on display that attendees will also be available to view.

From the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, including unique prototypes and four of the world’s fastest MG racing cars, to the late Queen’s 1971 Rover P5B on long term loan to the Museum. There’s also something for TV and film fans – from Lady Penelope’s iconic pink FAB 1 from Thunderbirds, the Land Rover Defenders used in the thrilling opening sequence of the Daniel Craig’s Bond movie Skyfall, and a replica of the DeLorean from Back to the Future 2. Great Scott!

Building for the future

Set amongst this exciting backdrop, there will be a first-class discussion from Simon Navin, EDI Chair for CICES. We will also have an update on the Geospatial Apprenticeships and a brilliant initiative with Scouts.

Everything addresses the three core visions of TSA:

  • helping you build a better business
  • encouraging companies with a survey requirement to only use a TSA member
  • making every young person aware of surveying as a career option.

Offering plenty of opportunities to network, we look forward to welcoming our members, old and new.

With the closing date for attendance by Tuesday 31st October 2023 and only a few spaces left, please register as soon as possible by emailing the office (office@tsa-uk.org.uk).
