At TSA, we regularly share advice to help surveyors make the most of their business. Whether that is social media and marketing advice, or tips on how to maximise your networking opportunities or even looking at ways of minimising the skills gap. However, one of the most beneficial things you can do to help your business, is look at investing in TSA membership in 2023.
As well as a wealth of resources available to our members online and in person, we run a number of events throughout the year that provide our members with the opportunity to learn – from each other and from our speakers – as well as the chance to network and share experiences with each other. Our two main events are our AGM in March and our Annual Conference in November.
Reach for the sky
This year, our annual conference took place in the spectacular Sky Suite at the British Motor Museum, and we were lucky enough to have Sir Clive Woodward as our keynote speaker. The theme of the day was ‘Stronger Together’, and in keeping with this, Sir Clive Woodward talked about the ‘DNA of a champion’. Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive, with comments including ‘days like this add huge value to membership’ and ‘the event gave a really strong vibe of being focused on creating value for members’. While one attendee summarised it as, “I found a lot of interesting threads in Sir Clive’s talk that I want to take back into my business. Also, hearing from a potential client organisation around some of the challenges they face has started some thinking around where the Survey industry can bring innovation to solve some of these problems. A very worthwhile day to attend.”
For members who missed the conference, there will be a further opportunity to hear Sir Clive Woodward’s presentation on Tuesday 6 December via an interactive webinar. We have also booked a very exciting venue for the AGM in March 2023, and more details on that will follow in the new year.
Coming up next year
There are lots of interesting things coming up in 2023, including the introduction of the TSA PAS128 Utility Mapping Accreditation (PUMA) scheme. TSA will also be working with RIAS, sponsoring its ‘Client of the Year Award’ and providing a CPD webinar to its members in January 2023. TSA Council is busy planning, to add even more value to being a TSA member, and overall, there is a huge interest in membership.
As TSA President Nick Hampson put it in his welcome speech, “Working together we present a formidable force….as a small profession, we need to work together with common cause to highlight our influence on every project in which we’re involved”. Why not start 2023 the right way and get involved? If you are not yet a member, please contact us at office@tsa-uk.org.uk to find out more, or if you work for a TSA member company and have not been to an event yet, please get in touch.
