Yesterday saw the fifth TSA Conference take place, with the theme of ‘Stronger Together’. With a record turnout, members filled the spectacular Sky Suite at the British Motor Museum, near Warwick. TSA President Nick Hampson welcomed everyone and set the scene for the day. Speaking about the vision and aims for TSA, he said, “I believe that working together we present a formidable force….as a small profession, we need to work together with common cause to highlight our influence on every project in which we’re involved”.
Following Nick’s introduction, we had the great honour of having Sir Clive Woodward as our keynote speaker. His talk, ‘The DNA of a Champion’, with insights from his illustrious career, was absolutely riveting.
Chris Stewart, President of The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland provided a fascinating presentation on the way RIAS works and some details of his own ground-breaking architectural practice, Collective Architecture. A delicious lunch followed and with it an opportunity to network and look round some of the stunning exhibits at the museum.
TSA Technical Committee Chair Sam Roberts brought TSA members up to speed with the forthcoming TSA PAS128 Utility Mapping Accreditation Scheme (PUMA) – more news will be released on this early in 2023. The day was completed with an update on all the work that TSA has been investing in this year and Lucy Powers spoke on the revision of the Trailblazer Geospatial Apprenticeship standard.
