Now we are approaching the end of July, our attention is turning to one of the most significant events of our year, The Survey Association’s annual conference, which is being held on November 8th from 10.00am until 2.00pm at the British Motor Museum in Warwick. We have hosted our last two conferences in this impressive venue and look forward to returning there this year.
We value spending ‘face to face’ time with our members and we know how much our members appreciate in-person events, but we always remain mindful of reducing their environmental impact where we can. We are therefore pleased to report that the British Motor Museum has partnered with *Tree-V to offer us the opportunity to carbon offset the miles travelled to the venue, by up to 100 miles per delegate. We are pleased to be able to contribute in this way to help counterbalance the emissions produced by delegate travel.
TSA Conference to be held on a Friday – save the date
In a departure from previous conferences, this year’s event is being held on a Friday. In a further change to the previous order of play, we are combining the occasion with another special event in The Survey Association’s year, The Survey School’s Graduation Day. This annual Awards ceremony for The Survey School, where we celebrate the achievements of those who have completed Courses 59-61 of our two year TSA Surveying Course, will be held during the conference for the very first time.
Working closely with The Survey School
Holding these two events together, as TSA Conference and Awards Day, will provide both the students and the wider TSA membership with the opportunity to learn more about each other. It also highlights the importance we attach to increasing the skills and qualifications within our profession and our desire to work ever more closely with The Survey School.
There will be an opportunity during the lunch break to enjoy all the British Motor Museum has to offer, as well as plenty time to network with TSA members.
Watch this space for an announcement of our very special keynote speaker!
Details and the invitation to register will be sent to members at the start of October.
*Carbon Offsetting is about protecting trees from deforestation, typically international forests. Tree-V works with projects in Guatemala, Uruguay, Peru and Bolivia.
