JOB DESCRIPTION
Assistant Director (Geomatics)
Up to £55,000 + bonuses & car allowance (DOE)Archidata, Specialist Land & Building Surveyors, Steyning, West Sussex
ABOUT US AND THE OPPORTUNITY
A fantastic senior management opportunity has arisen in a niche surveying company with an immediate start for the right entrepreneurial candidate. Our director is looking at stepping back towards retirement and is looking for the right candidate to start running the company under his guidance and support. Ultimately, the right candidate may even benefit from a management buy out and be able to take over a successful turn key operation over a period of time to make it their own but not have to do this from scratch.
Archidata is a small but specialist Land & building surveying company in West Sussex primarily providing data for architects in the form of plans, sections, elevations and topographical land surveys. Deliverables range from basic 2D AutoCAD plans to complex three-dimensional BIM models all drawn up with an
architectural flair which sets Archidata out from the crowd in terms of quality surveying products for the construction industry.
Not only do we work closely with many regular architects across the south of England but we also work with a number of landscape and garden designers, public schools, developers and of course the general public. We find that our work is generally in the south east of England but also work has taken us as far north as
Glasgow, West to the Caribbean, and Southeast to The Netherlands and every day brings exciting new challenges.
Probably our most exciting project to date was the setting out and construction of “The green and pleasant land” set in London’s 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. As you would expect from a quality surveying company, we also provide setting out, monitoring, area surveys, land registry compliant plans, volume calculations, boundary disputes, verified view photos and CAD services. We have invested heavily in the latest hand-held 3-dimensional laser scanning equipment together with GNSS
GPS and total station theodolite technology not to mention the computer hard and software required to process this complex data.
The successful candidate would be driven and be able to work in an efficient and successful manner & find themselves out in the field as necessary whilst managing and recruiting staff to build and expand the company over time, organising suitable training for continued professional development of staff in the company, putting together tenders and quotations for clients, scheduling work, organising regular servicing and calibration of equipment, keeping up to date with the latest technology and general day-to-day running of the company helping the existing company founder to take more of a back seat in the business over time and with the potential for genuine equity options for the right candidate. This is an amazing opportunity for the right person.
